The Speaker of Parliament, Rebecca Kadaga, has promised to support different youth-oriented initiatives, including calls for a reduction of registration and nomination fees for those seeking to hold elective positions in the country.
The Speaker made the promise while she was opening the first ever youth debate session in parliament this morning. Kadaga also promised to push for debate on the sexual offenses bill and the composition of a Select Committee to look into allegations of sexual violence and harassment in institutions of learning.
Meanwhile, the youths also called for the scrapping of the social media tax that was recently passed by Parliament
