The pressure mounted on the Republic of South Sudan by the East African Legislative Assembly to have meet their financial obligations to the East African Community has yielded results. South Sudan has finally sent in three million US dollars to Arusha, promising to continue clearing its accumulated debt, now standing at 24.6 million dollars. Earlier this month, the regional lawmakers sitting in Arusha Tanzania threatened to invoke treaty provisions to sanction and suspend South Sudan for failing pay their contributions to the east african community.
