PROSECUTORS STRIKE: High court suspends hearing of capital offences

The High court in Kampala has adjourned the hearing of capital offences indefinitely, due to an on-going Prosecutor’s strike.
The industrial action by state prosecutors that has so far spanned over a month has paralyzed trials countrywide and clogging of the criminal justice system.

Meanwhile the Police says eight police officers including a senior commandant arrested in connection with missing 83 kg of cocaine will appear in court once the prosecutors’ strike is suspended.
