Police warns Ugandans against faking kidnaps to extort family and friends

Police has revealed that there has been an increase in reported cases of kidnap in recent months.

However, According to the police spokesman Emilian Kayima, some of those cases have turned out to be false alarms or staged kidnaps like the case of a lady currently detained at Old Kampala Police station for staging a fake kidnapping in a bid to acquire ransom money from her boyfriend.

Kayima has also confirmed the murder of an entire family in Kaberamaido district.

Police says the residents lynched the assailants among, whom was an army officer.

Kayima was addressing a press conference at the Central Police Station in Kampala this morning.
