#PMLive: 75% OF SCHOOLS IN MITOOMA USE CONTAMINATED WATER

The new baseline survey conducted by Twaweza in Mitooma district western Uganda have shown that about 75% of schools use contaminated water.

This has been attributed to laxity in cleaning water harvesting tanks before and after rainy season thus exposing lives of pupils at risk of contracting water borne diseases.

Twaweza officials have urged local governments to look into the matter seriously though school teachers claim the problem originates from parents who give their pupils dirty containers
