Opposition MPs to declare a “Togikwatako” week

The opposition has declared a Togikwatako week, starting on Monday. The MPs have said they will wear red for the seven days and it will not be business as usual. This comes as Parliament’s legal affairs committee prepares to table its report on its scrutinization and consultations on the private member’s constitution amendment bill that among things looks to amending the clause on the presidential age limits. They also say that the proposal to increase the term of office of the president from five to seven years is diversionary. This view came as President Museveni met the committee members earlier this week.
