NRM begins push to scrap presidential age limit

The presidential age limit debate has now drawn in more Members of Parliament other than the first few who openly pushed for the amendment of the constitution to remove the 75 year cap for anyone to seek the presidency.
During a meeting in Parliament, over 240 MPs of the ruling NRM party agreed that next week, they would table a motion in Parliament, seeking leave to draft a private members bill to amend the constitution to lift the presidential age limit.
As Herbert Zziwa reports, Igara West MP Rapheal Magyezi and Commissioners of Parliament from the NRM were given the mandate to draft the bill.
