Nation Media Group, says it will invest an additional two million dollars this year in enhancing its digital platform, across its entire operations in East Africa, following a 15% growth in digital footprint to 37.2 Million users. A tweet put out this Wednesday by management also reports that depressed regional economies as well as net impact of the discontinuation of government advertising business from July 2018 due to inordinate delays in settling outstanding debts to NMG, in part contributed to a decline in the Media Group’s Pretax Profit by 16.4% to $15.8 Million dollars in 2018. Nation, the biggest publisher in East Africa, also operates in Uganda and Tanzania, runs radio and television stations in addition to a newspaper business.
