Hundreds of Nakawa residents who turned up for screening to join the local Defence Unit were turned away on account of infections, disease and multiple body scars. The turned away applicants left disgruntled saying they were simplt victims of a flawed recruitment process. But despite the dissenting voices, the local leaders had already disowned most candidates claiming they are not residents of Nakawa. The army has ruled out corruption in the exercise
