Grain millers petition EALA to amend customs law

Grain millers in East Africa have petitioned the regional assembly seeking to amend article 34 of the East African Community Customs management act of 2004. They are concerned that the law imposes a double warehouse rent charge on the imported grain. which, in turn, increases the cost of production and causes a rise in the price of food stuffs like wheat flour and bread.
