GOV’T REQUEST COMPENSATION REPORT

Finance minister, Matia Kasaija, has instructed the Uganda National Roads Authority boss, Allen Kagina, to compute and avail report of how much money is spent on the compensation of land owners during road construction works.

Kasaija complained that land owners demanding exorbitant fees have turned out to be a stumbling block to government’s infrastructural developments.

He raised the concern this morning during the signing of a loan agreement with the African Development Bank for the multinational Uganda-Rwanda, Busega–Mpigi and Kagitumba- Kayonza-Rusumo road projects.
