Government to build more dams around the country

The Ministry of Water and Environment is working on increasing the number of valley dams, tanks and small scale irrigation schemes for farmers to continue production during dry spells. This is one of governments strategies to mitigate against the effects of climate change and improve on the livelihoods of Uganda’s farmers. This was revealed by Alfred Okidi, the permanent secretary in the Minister of Water and Environment, during a tour of Bukedea and Manafwa where two small scale irrigation schemes were commissioned.#NTVNews
