Government has said it has sent relief supplies to people affected by Thursday’s rains and mudslides in Bududa district. According to the commissioner of Relief, Disaster Preparedness and Management, Martin Owor, the search for more bodies continues as government continues to dispatch relief supplies to the affected people whose number is yet to be fully established.
Owor has also revealed that they have recorded at least 60 landslides since February, which did not kill people due to a good risk assessment and response system. In 2010 landslides killed 150 people in Bududa.
