The Delegation of the European Union to Uganda is calling on Ugandan farmers to start exporting their produce to the European markets where they can be guaranteed that they will not pay import tariffs. The call was made on the opening day of The Delegation’s tour of the eastern part of the country. However, local government leaders in Mbale are calling on the central government to address the challenge of the poor road network in the district if the farmers are to easily access local, regional, and international market.
