Catholics accuse Sheema district leaders of discrimination

Parliament’s appointments committee has summoned the leaders of Sheema district, to appear before an inter-parliamentary committee over wrangles related to sectarianism.

The committee decision follows a petition by the Catholic Community in Sheema district, who asked the President in October to look into why they were being discriminated against in job distribution.

They also complained that their church projects are marginalised.

The decision came during a meeting between the MPs, district leaders and members of district service commissions from Greater Bushenyi held at Bushenyi district headquarters.
