Betty Nambooze suspended from Democratic Party for three months

The Democratic Party’s Central Executive Committee has suspended its Vice president for Buganda Region, Betty Nambooze for three months. The decision to temporarily relieve Nambooze, who is also Mukono municipality MP of her duties was made at a meeting convened at pope Paul Center in Kampala. Nambooze is accused of snubbing meetings and failing to adhere to party directives. A committee has been instituted to investigate her case after which she will be given an opportunity to give her side of the story. During the proceedings, a section of the members led by the party spokesperson walked out in protest.
